Kalandra is a traditional village in western Kassandra, Halkidiki, located a short distance from the coastline of the Toroneos Gulf. One of the oldest settlements in the area, it still retains the authentic character of the Macedonian countryside. The village lies at a low elevation amid olive groves, farmland and the natural vegetation typical of the Kassandra peninsula’s interior.

Kalandra’s history is closely tied to rural life and working the land. For generations, its residents have focused primarily on farming, olive cultivation and producing local goods, which remain an important part of the local economy. The village retains a peaceful, authentic pace of life while being close to some of the best-known beaches in western Halkidiki.

A short distance from Kalandra lies Possidi, a popular seaside destination known for its impressive sandy beach and distinctive cape extending into the sea. Every summer, the area attracts visitors seeking clear waters, natural beauty and a relaxed summer atmosphere.

The village itself offers a different holiday experience from Kassandra’s major tourist centres. Visitors can discover authentic local life, savour traditional flavours in tavernas and coffee houses, and wander through the village’s narrow streets. Kalandra also makes an ideal base for exploring the western side of the peninsula, with places such as Fourka, Siviri and Sani nearby.

With its traditional character, natural surroundings and easy access to seaside destinations, Kalandra brings together the tranquillity of the countryside and the summer experiences of Halkidiki.
