“ON XERXES’ FOOTSTEPS”
A verdant settlement whose origins stretch back to antiquity, Nea Potidea, is located on the prime spot between two gulfs. Torone and Thermaikos lend to it some of their incomparable natural beauty, while its ancient fortifications loom along Xerxes’ canal. Potidea is the entrance gate to the peninsula of Kassandra. Nea Potidea was built in 1923 by refugees from Eastern Thrace and Kololimnos, over the ruins of the ancient town of Potidea. Summer holidays in Nea Potidea have a deep blue color and senses delight at the small traditional coffee shops and the luxurious restaurants on the sea front, as well as before the wonderful sunset which you may enjoy on the natural “balcony” of the settlement. Make a punctual rendezvous with History and modern reality at N. Potidea!
