Gomati is a traditional village in eastern Halkidiki, situated between the area’s mountain slopes and the shores of the Strymonian Gulf. Part of the Municipality of Aristotle, the village retains strong elements of local Macedonian tradition and rural life.

The village’s history is closely linked to farming and livestock rearing, activities that remain important to the local economy today. The area is known for its olive oil, honey and other local products that are characteristic of eastern Halkidiki’s cuisine.

The natural surroundings of Gomati combine hills, woodland and easy access to nearby beaches. Popular coastal spots such as Akti Salonikiou and other beaches along the Strymonian Gulf are a short distance away, allowing visitors to combine mountain and seaside experiences.

The village retains the authentic atmosphere of a traditional Halkidiki community, with local coffee houses, small shops and welcoming residents who keep the area’s customs and traditions alive.

Gomati is a peaceful, authentic destination for those wishing to experience everyday life in Halkidiki and explore an area with a strong historical and cultural identity, away from the major tourist centres.
