Nea Kallikratia is one of the leading seaside destinations in western Halkidiki, located in the Municipality of Nea Propontida, approximately 35 kilometres south of Thessaloniki. The town lies on the Thermaic Gulf and has one of the largest and best-equipped beaches in the area.

The history of Nea Kallikratia began after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, when refugees from Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor settled in the area and established the present-day town. Over the decades, it developed into an important commercial and tourism hub for western Halkidiki.

Nea Kallikratia’s long sandy beach is known for its clear waters. Restaurants, tavernas, cafés, beach bars and shops line the seafront, creating a lively summer atmosphere for visitors.

The town also has a marina and a small harbour, while its local market serves as a hub for the surrounding area. Nea Kallikratia welcomes both tourists and residents of Thessaloniki who choose the area for their holiday homes.

Easy access from Thessaloniki, well-developed facilities and a long beach make Nea Kallikratia a particularly popular destination for summer holidays and short getaways.
